Request a new application
Custom application development will only be considered if there is no commercial application that can be purchased to meet department needs. One of the prerequisites to having a custom software application created is to understand that it is a collaborative effort between the department and the application development team. Departments must be ready to become involved with the project for a prolonged period of time and spend a lot of energy defining business needs, meeting with developers and testing the application being built. Useful software requires collaboration — it is not just a technology project.
How to submit a request?
Departments who need to have a custom software application should discuss their needs with their technical liaison. Once general specifications and goals are established, the department will need to submit an IT project proposal to the SAIT Oversight Committee for approval and prioritization. Waiting periods for new software applications may be several years.
