Request a New Version of an Existing ApplicationContact the Software Development Manager to inquire about a new version of your application. We define a new version of an application as a maintenance version. It could be that your business practices have changed or you want to improve some part of the application that you're using. When to request?Plan ahead! A good rule of thumb is to request your version at least 6 months in advance. It will help us schedule your new version in our lineup of projects which is usually planned a semester out. Do not forget to include a preferred timeline or external deadline. We will make an effort to schedule your maintenance version to fit your needs and preferred timeline. Come prepared!Do your homework before hand. Come with a list of requests prioritized by business value so that we only work on the items that matter to you. Your version is scheduled. What happens? You will meet with the team to go over your requests. We will ask you questions to clarify some of the requests. The team will assign a certain number of "points" to every request. It is an estimation of how long it will take one person to work on the request. We will assign you a number of "points" that you can spend on items for this new version. We will also ask you to prioritize your list and choose the most important items while staying within your allocated points.
