Commercial Software ApplicationsDepartments who believe they need to purchase a commercially-available software (and/or hardware) application should discuss their needs with their technical liaison or the SAIT Director. Once general specifications and goals are established, the department will need to submit an IT project proposal to the SAIT Oversight Committee for approval and prioritization. Due to stringent state purchasing and contract requirements, and existing SAIT commitments, it is advised to plan to wait at least 18 months before a new application will be available. SAIT has been asked by the SAITOC to implement one version upgrade each year for mission-critical commercial software applications if the owning department requests the upgrade. We will try to work with department scheduling needs but cannot guarantee that SAIT personnel resources will be available at the optimum time for a department. The SAITOC has defined the following commercial software applications as being eligible for annual upgrades:
