Software Installation or UpgradeMost computer-related tasks can be performed with the standard software installed on all Division computers. Departments that have employees with special software needs should request an analysis by SAIT through the department authority. Assuming that other software already installed on the computer doesn't address the need, and that the software works in a restricted security environment, SAIT would purchase the software and transfer the cost to the requesting department. This type of request typically takes an extended period of time to test, and it may be necessary for SAIT to purchase a single copy of the software for testing purposes (and transfer the cost to the requesting department even if the software does not work in the restricted environment).
