Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 (IE 7) UpgradeInternet Explorer 7 & Google Spell Checker InstallationSAIT will be upgrading from Internet Explorer 6 to Internet Explorer 7 and install Google Spell Checker for Internet Explorer on your department’s computers between April 17-19th 2009. If your computer does not have Internet Explorer 7 or Google Spell Checker when you arrive to work on Monday April 20th please try to shutdown and restart the computer. If restarting your computer does not work call SAIT at 6-8992 and choose option 0 to reach our helpdesk. Please specify which upgrade you are missing when calling. Google Spell CheckerAll workstations will have Google Spell Checker installed as a toolbar in Internet Explorer on Friday April 17th, 2009 after 11:30 p.m. If you must use your computer due to afterhours services please refrain from using Internet Explorer to ensure a smooth installation. You may notice a window briefly appear that says “Symantec Ghost is starting a task” as the installation is occurring. After seeing this window the installation should only take about 10 minutes and you will be able to use Internet Explorer again. The update will cause the computer to reboot during the installation in order to complete. If you will not be working during those two days please log off your computer to prevent any data loss. If you are working during the time of the update a warning prior to the reboot should occur with a 5 minute countdown to give you time to close any applications. It will force a reboot of the computer regardless after the countdown.
