Technical Support ConsultantComputer Technical Support Consultant I, UCP IVThe Department of Student Affairs Information Technology at the University of Connecticut is seeking a full-time Technical Support Consultant to provide hardware support to the end user desktop computer environment. This is a great opportunity to enhance client services in a progressive and dynamic technology environment with over 600 desktop computers. Responsibilities include insuring prompt and courteous resolution for all technology equipment requests; performing technology equipment moves, repairs, replacements, and maintenance; and collaborating with other information technology staff, administrators, and end users to create functional, reliable and easy to use desktop and network computer environment. Minimum Qualifications: Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in a computer-related field (five years of appropriate technical experience will substitute for the bachelor’s degree); one or more years of experience in computer technical support, computer operations or technical experience that demonstrates a knowledge and understanding of microcomputer hardware and software in an enterprise environment; excellent verbal and written communication skills; and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
