Notification: Major Systems Outage

On Saturday, May 16, between 5 a.m. and noon, UITS and Facilities Management are planning to shut off the power to the UITS server room in order to facilitate an electrical power upgrade. The UITS server room is located on the ground floor of the Math Science Building (MSB).

This outage will result in most Student Affairs technology services being unavailable between 5 a.m. and noon on Saturday, May 16.

These services include the following:

  • All line of business applications (e.g., THD, Foodpro, Pyramed, Judicial Action, EMS, Oscars, Eventmaster)
  • All web services
  • All file shares including Q: and R: drives
  • Printing services
  • Desktop computers (including remote desktop access)

Additionally, several other services such as email, PeopleSoft, FRS and WebCT will not be available until noon on May 16.

In summary, you should not plan to work on computers during the morning of Saturday, May16.
