Correction to Power Outage Schedule for the Week of August 17th

On Tuesday, August 18th; Wednesday, August 19th; and Thursday, August 20th, between 4:00am and 5:30am, Facilities Management is planning to shut off the power to the Storrs campus in order to facilitate an electrical power upgrade. Facilities changed the schedule to three short power outages, instead of one long outage, to accommodate the requests of members of the University community and lessen the impact of the system tests on the University.

This outage will result in all Student Affairs technology services being unavailable between 3:00am 6:00am Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday morning.

These services include the following:

  • All line of business applications (e.g., THD, Foodpro, Pyramed, Judicial Action, EMS, Oscars, Eventmaster)
  • All web services
  • All file shares including Q: and R: drives
  • Printing services
  • Desktop computers (including remote desktop access)

Please log off your workstations before you leave each night to ensure that you do not lose any work. All computer workstations will automatically be powered off at 3:00am each morning. There is no need for individuals to shutdown their workstations. However, computers will have to be turned on by the individual before they can be used each morning.
